Dune riding....
is quite the adventure. Over the top of a dune, and down the side like a roller coaster. Woo! At one point, we saw a stranger's jeep stuck on the top of a dune. After being pulled out by one of our vehicles, he invited us to join him and his friends for
The hunt involved letting a pidgeon go, giving it a head start, and releasing a falcon after it. You can pretty much guess the outcome. We pursued the chase by vehicle and then got out as the falcon neared the pidgeon. The falcon soared above it's target, plummeted several feet, sunk its' talons into the pidgeon, and then landed two feet away from where I was standing. All of this happened within about five seconds. My thoughts were almost simultaneous,
"Poor pidgeon....well, I guess the falcon must eat in order to survive." From his perspective, it's a kill or die situation.
Who would you root for (the pidgeon or the falcon?), and why?

I think I'd be happy if either won the contest- they would be selected for either way, allowing us to observe the more advanced adaptations in either specimen.
